The area around the Willows offers outstanding Natural History in particular Northam and Braunton Burrows, situated either side of the Taw Torridge estuary and is an important destination for migratory birds, in particular winter waders, which feed up and down the estuary in conjunction with the tides.  One environment not to be missed is the intertidal zone (rockpools).
